World Health Workers' Week April 5-11

This week, we celebrate health workers worldwide, from doctors, nurses, paramedics, laboratory scientists, dentists to health volunteers.

We remember all who lost their lives caring for the sick like Dr Stella Adadevoh, the brave doctor who stopped Patrick Sawyer from spreading Ebola in Nigeria; Nurse Justina Ejelonu and other brave health workers in West Africa who risk their lives everyday to care for Ebola patients including Dr. Kent Brantly.

Everyday health workers including hospital cleaners are exposed to several health hazards and infections ranging from needle pricks, HIV, hepatitis B to respiratory tract infections.

We doff our hats to men and women of extraordinary courage who selflessly save lives everyday.
