World No Tobacco Day 2015

Today marks the "World No Tobacco Day (WNTD)," celebrated worldwide to highlight the health risks associated with tobacco use and advocate for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption.

This year, the WHO is calling on countries to work together to end the illicit trade of tobacco products.
According to the Tobacco Control Research Group (TCRG) at the UK’s University of Bath, Africa is the world’s fastest growing market for tobacco with as many as 77 million adult smokers and it is forecast to rise to as much as 572m by the end of this century.

Smokers are liable to die young but it appears they won't be alone-- According to the WHO, 600 000 non-smokers are dying from breathing second-hand smoke and the epidemic will kill more than 8 million people every year by 2030.

Today make the decision to quit smoking and avoid smoke from cigarettes because second-hand smoke is just as dangerous as puffing on your own stick.

Have a wonderful day being a "stop smoking" advocate!!
