How Pregnant Women From Africa Pack Maternal Kits

Every expectant mother packs a bag of essentials to take with her when she gives birth, in order to help things run more smoothly.

But these seven women - profiled by WaterAid - from around the world prove the notion of 'essential' varies enormously depending on where they live.

According to WaterAid, in Africa, such essentials include a razor to cut the umbilical cord and a sheet of black plastic sheet to give birth on; while in London or New York, it's more about massage oils and iPads.

N.B- From my experience,  the razor is used to shave the woman's pubic hair and not to cut the umbilicus. But still the difference is clear.
