YABATECH Student's Death Sparks Protest

A student of Yaba College of Technology Lagos, died today after  she was allegedly denied treatment by health officials in the school's health centre.

The deceased, Dazan Charity Olubukola, was a final year HND II student of the Department of the Food Technology and Management. 

As result of the sad incident, the school was in a state of unrest today, as several students protested her death.

“Dazan died at about 4am today. She was expected to write her final examination in two weeks time. She was in the medical centre before she was improperly discharged by one of the doctors. This was against her will. After she returned to her hostel, she later developed complication (in the) midnight. She was rushed back to the medical centre where they failed to give her adequate attention until she gave up,” an anonymous female student explained to Daily Trust.
