Dr. Okoro is a native of Orlu in Imo state and left Nigeria when he was 16 to further his education in the U.S.

He's doubly certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Okoro's also a member of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

In 2014, he was adjudged the best cosmetic plastic surgeon in the State of Georgia in 2014, beating American doctors and those from other countries in the process.

He once said, "Nigeria has the best doctors. If you go to any hospital in the U.S, the best doctors are Nigerians. Why are we best over there and can’t be best here? We have all the resources we need for us to be the best country in the world, we have the best engineers and we have the best lawyers."
