BV is a common condition of the vagina caused by an overgrowth of various germs (bacteria).

🏨N.B It is not a sexually transmitted disease, so there's no need to be ashamed of it.

In fact, BV is not caused by poor hygiene. Rather, excessive washing of the vagina (douching) may alter the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina, which may make BV more likely to develop.
.
To prevent BV and its fishy smell, avoid douching and see a doctor if there's any smell in your nether regions👍.
